It's sooooo hot outside at the moment ... I am luxurating in a/c comfort this afternoon, but when I stepped outside onto our back bacony (which faces west and is baking hot at the moment), I discovered this beauty at the bottom of the steps. We don't seem to possess even the slightest suggestion of green fingers in our family, but in a 'greenie' moment, the girl found and rescued this lily when her father was rampaging through the backyard with a tree-pruning saw and whiper-snipper. She potted the bulb and promptly forgot about it, just like her mother would have, and didn't even water or love it, yet this afternoon, there it was, making our world a much more beautiful place! It was a given that I would photograph it ... 'Mum, have you photographed it yet?; :)
Life rushes by. We have had our rental application accepted, which is wonderful. Now I just have to work out how to squeeze our house into one that is about three-quarters of the size of our current one. DH drew up a 'to scale' plan of the house we are moving into, and then drew up models of our furniture and spent a lazy day trying to fit it all in. I was almost at the stage of strong hysterics when he realized what was going on, and promptly moved on to design 'my room', complete with the aubergine lounges, coffee table, and my work desk, and my four big glassed-in bookshelves, and then I could start to breathe again! It is amazing how big our house is, yet it doesn't really seem that way, I've never thought it was big, but my, most other places just don't fit in our 14 bookcases (and other assorted pieces of furniture)! I would just as soon give away one of my children, as give away a bookcase, and we all know how likely that would be ... ;) Now I'm off to continue working my way through the kitchen cupboards, look out tupperware, here I come!!!
