Weekend roundup!

Is it over in your part of the world yet? My weekend is grinding slowly to a halt! I do enjoy my weekends. We took the girl to a performance on Saturday night, where her youth orchestra played Russian music, very exciting and fast and loud, finishing up with the 1812 Overture. Even though our girl sat in the front row of the orchestra and yawned all the way through, she seemed to have fun. It meant a late night for everyone in the family, so we all slept in this morning. That was noice! Photos? Well, I was a mile and a half away, and only scored a couple of fuzzy shots, might scrap them later and see what I can rescue out of them.

Today was windy and cold ... the sort of 'stay home and turn the heater on' weather. I ventured out to the clothes line a couple of times, but was glad to get back into the warmth. Homework for a couple of kids, washing, a school practise in the afternoon, an hour or so playing Spyro next to the boy, who happily takes over the controls and does the speed races for me in one attempt (I'd be there all day trying to finish the races!), I repackaged an old kit into a paper pack, scrapped a layout ... that was the day. Ho hum to some, but infinitely peaceful to me! Hope your weekend is just as satisfying ...

Do you have photos that make you smile? This is one of mine. For many years, the boy would sneak out of the house in my red socks, just to tease me, lol. This red paper was perfect to scrap this moment, which I will probably forget if I don't get it down on [digital] paper. :)

I think the journaling tells the whole story here, lol. The girl was supervising Charli's afternoon tea, and didn't really want the whole 'photoshoot' thang. Thanks, chickie!

Charli loves his vegies ... what he doesn't love is standing still, so I ended up with fuzzy photos. I'm lucky he didn't pick up the corn kernel and lob it at me, we find food everywhere after he has been grazing. He is a funny little bird, he carefully cleans his beak after his vegie feast.

I wanted to share some closeups of creashen's gorgeous goodies that have been unpacked out of her grab bag. I used one of the papers from Old School to do the layout of the girl above ... here's a preview of the paper pack. Can you see the yummy textures?

I'm grateful today ... for something probably incidental to most mums, but vital to me. My clothes drier has been making agonized noises for a little while now, sounds that said to me, 'I need a new belt!' I  was on the hunt for a belt for my clothes dryer ... the little repair shop down the road, run very proficently by a little old man and his aged dog who snoozed in the sunshine the couple of times I visited, has closed, and I had to try somewhere new. I've been dealing with what seems like mountains of washing for a few days now, trying to get everything dry, and boy, did I miss my dryer!!!

Funnily enough, after checking on the big wide web, I discovered that there was another repair place even closer to home, and after a quick visit at lunchtime and for the small fee of $21, I have a new clothes dryer belt, which took DH just minutes to replace. In fact, it took much more effort to get the beast back up on the wall ... so heavy!!! But it's back up, and drying away merrily, and tonight, I might even get to the bottom of the basket of dry clean clothes!!! Funny how the smallest things make such a big difference ...

The dust has settled, we safely made the transition to a new server, and twolittlepixels is open for business again! We've had a nervous few hours watching and waiting and hoping that everything would work again ... but we needn't have worried, cos all is fine. Hope you find time to wander through the shoppe and check out all the gorgeous new things we put on the shelves over the weekend. I'm off to iron some uniforms ...
